ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research is to study effect of seed conditioning to improve the quality of seeds which is resistant to drought stress and to found the PEG concentration that can be used as a seed treatment before planting. This research used randomized block design with two factor, there are : 1. Test of seed germination with 5 levels of treatment (dry seeds, distilled water, PEG 20 g, PEG 40 g, PEG 60 g). 2 Water concentration with three levels of treatment ( 100% available water , 75% available water and 50% available water) . The result showed that treatment of concentration PEG and water does not provide significantly different effects on the parameters of plant height, day of flower, day of harvest, the number of pod per plant, the number of seeds per pod, weight of 100 seed, soybean yield per acre, root length, ratio of canopy and root , dry weight ratio of canopy and root, seed germination.
