ABSTRACT

Briquettes is a collection of biomass which is charred or not then compressed using adhesive tapioca to increase its calorific value. This study examined material composition between waste coffee grounds and Lapindo mud that has a variety of coffee grounds: Lapindo mud by 90%: 10%, 80%: 20%, 70%: 30%. Based on this examination,the composition of 90%: 10% indicate the best calorific value is equal to 3590,253 (kcal / g), water content of 11,56%, the initial ignition test 174 seconds, the maximum water temperature test of 1.940 seconds with ash mass test is 2.951 seconds. While the ash content test, press firmly and density test, the best present is briquettes composition of 70%: 30% by value of the ash content of 11,51, firmly press test 8,365 (g / cm3) and the density is 1,04 (g / cm3 ).
