ABSTRAK

Produksi bioetanol dari bonggol pisang kepok pada umumnya menggunakan katalis enzim yang sulit didapatkan dan mahal harganya. Pada hidrolisis asam,  konsentrasi asam dan konsentrasi bahan baku berpengaruh terhadap derajat hirolisis. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari dua faktor yaitu konsentrasi asam ( 1 M, 1,2 M dan 1,4 M H2SO4) dan konsentrasi bahan baku ( 20% b/v dan 30% b/v). Proses hidrolisis berlangsung pada suhu 105ºC, selama 30 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa DE terbaik sebesar 85,35% diperoleh dari perlakuan 1,4 M H2SO4 dan 20%. Hidrolisat tersebut difermentasi dan menghasilkan bioetanol sebesar 1,66% b/v.

ABSTRACT

Bioethanol production from banana weevil “Musa acuminata balbisiana Colla” typically uses an enzyme catalyst that is difficult to obtain and expensive. On acid hydrolysis, acid concentration and concentration of raw materials affect the dextrose equivalent (DE). Treatment in this study consisted of two factors: the concentration of acid ( 1 M, 1,2 M and 1,4 M H2SO4) and concentration of raw materials ( 20% w/v and 30% w/v). Hydrolysis process takes place at 105ºC, for 30 minutes. The results showed that the best DE is 85,35% from the treatment of 1,4 M H2SO4 and 20%. Hydrolyzate is fermented and produce bioethanol by 1,66% w/v.
