<note>ABSTRACT

Fredy Christ Handoko, Program Study Computer Engineering, Information Technology Department, State Polytechnic of Jember, January 27 2014. Implementasi Multi Virtual Server Menggunakan Virtual Private Server (VPS) Pada Sistem Operasi Debian. Supervising Committee Agus Hariyanto, ST, M.Kom. and Surateno, S.Kom, M.Kom.
Advances in communications technology during this period has increased significantly, many new innovations that appeared to fix the old ideas were first applied. Communication technology is used for hosting by user from low level until high level. Hosting usually is used for web server, mail server, DNS server, secondary DNS, and other services. There are many user from low level until medium level needed hosting with low cost. With the problem, Virtual Private Server is hosting technology which have low cost and needed by low until medium level user. Virtual Private Server can devide a physical computer to be some virtual server for hosting with low cost.
The method used in this thesis is the first requirement definition, the next design, followed by the developmet of system, after the completion of testing and analysis, testing is done by access mail server of VPS1 and web server of VPS2 through a public network.
Using Virtual Private Server technology can save more resource, so a physical computer can run more Virtual Private Sever in a host system or physical computer. Because of that, cost of renting Virtual Private Server is lowest for any user.
