ABSTRACT

Traditional stoves are conventional combustion sites that utilize biomass as their fuel. The constituent of traditional stoves is clay. The addition of ash to clay is expected to increase the compressive strength and reduce the value of thermal conductivity due to the presence of silica. This study aims to make a stove by first testing the constituent ingredients. The constituent material consists of a mixture of clay and some percentage of the use of bagasse ash and rice husk ash of 0%, 5%, 10% and 15%. Test parameters to determine the best material is by testing the compressive strength, porosity, and the value of thermal conductivity. The results show that the best composition material is at a percentage of 90% clay and 10% ash (bagasse ash and rice husk ash) has a compressive strength of 10.50 kg / cm2 porosity value of 34.09% and a thermal conductivity value of 2,63 W / m ℃. Traditional household stoves are designed and remade then tested using the Water Boiling Test (WBT) method. The results of the WBT test showed that traditional stove efficiency has been designed at 31% and traditional traditional stoves at 25.4%. The heat transfer rate in the traditional furnace that has been designed is 14,522 watts and the traditional traditional furnace is 23,69 watts.
