ABSTRACT

The air filter is the air filter supplied by the combustion chamber to bind fuel so that the motor gets the power needed to drive a vehicle. The material used is banana stem fiber which is used as an air filter or filter. This study aims to analyze the effect of using fibrous air filters composite banana stems by comparing standard air filters to vehicle exhaust emissions. Data collection uses a Honda supra x 125-D motorcycle and gas analyzer. Material samples were taken at 2000 Rpm engine speed, 4000 Rpm, and 6000 Rpm with taking emission levels in CO2, O2, CO, and HC gases. The results of testing were better at Rpm 2000 engine speed with CO2 gas levels decreasing 0.90%, O2 gas increased 1.40%, and CO gas decreased 0.34% from standard filters.
