SUMMARY
Translating A Book Entitled “Quality Assurance for Animal Feed Analysis Laboratories” of Animal Husbandry Department on page 96 until 115, DedikPurnamaSuri, F31151207, 2018, 66pages, Language, Communication, and Tourism Department, Politeknik Negeri Jember, Adriadi Novawan, S.Pd., M.Ed. (Supervisor).


Language is a tool of human communication. The communication can work well when there is an understanding and commonality in the language. But sometimes incomprehensibility occurs due to differences in the language used. To overcome the incomprehension of the language, required a bridge that can connect between one languagesto another. Talking about language, translation is an activity that used as a bridge to comprehend incomprehensibility caused by the differences of the languages itself.
In the field of education, the results of translation are used as references of lecturing materials by using textbooks or journals that are written in the form of English language to support the learning and teaching process. Animal Husbandry is one of departments at Politeknik Negeri Jemberthat is using textbook in order to ease and support the delivering of material in teaching and learning process.Because the book that used is still written in the English language, The students comprehension of the text is still low, they got difficulty in understanding well the whole content of the book.
This final project is to translate Quality Assurance for Animal Feed Analysis LaboratoriesPublished by Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nation which aimed to facilitate the students of Animal Husbandry Department in understanding well the content of the book, because the language that used by the writer in translating the book was Indonesian version. This project conducted in a group and each member of the group has their own part of the pages that will be translated. The pages of the writer only focus on page 96 up to 115.
To finish this project the writer used translation process that proposed by Nida (1975:80) that include analysis of the source text, transferring the analyzed text into the target language and restructuring the result. In translating the text, finding the equivalence of the source text into the target language is really important to be considered. The aimed of this process is to determine the meaning, it is compatible or not with the source text without changing the real meaning. In this case the writer need to use the procedure in order to transfer the meaning from the source text to the target language. The writer used procedure by Vinay and Darbelnet in Hatim and Munday (2004) they are literal translation, borrowing, adaptation and transposition.
This book contain the information about how set up good quality system, dosing and weighing of the sample with a set dose and also how to use the instruments in the laboratoty. As the result, the writer could increase his new vocabularies related to Animal Husbandry and laboratory and the writer also could applied and improved his writing and translation skill to finish the project. The writer hopes that this book will be beneficial and can facilitate the students in understanding more about the content of the book.
Moreover, by finishing this final project the writer has some suggestion for the students and lecturer of Animal Husbandary Department, for the students of English Study Program, and also for the English Study Program itself. For the students and lecturer of Animal Husbandary Department, they can use the result of this project in the lecturing and practicum class. For the Students of English Study Program, the next Student can proceed the next pages that has not been translated. By conducting this translation project the students will get new knowledge, experiences and also they can apply the translation skill that has been learned in college. And the last for For the Lecturer of Translation Study, The lecturers need to increase and explain more about the translation study, giving more practical exercises, and giving comprehension to the students that translation skill is needed in order to transfer the equivalence meaning from the source language to the target language.
