ABSTRACT

Research on the Effectiveness of Paclobutrazol Concentration and Packaging Types on the Growth Power of Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.)Seeds. to determine the concentration of the solution of paclobutrazold and the type of packaging to the growth power of cocoa, one of the efforts to maintain and improve the quality of cocoa seeds after going through the storage and shipping process. This research will be carried out in August - October 2017 in the Seed Technology Laboratory greenhouse, Jember State Polytechnic. This study was arranged using factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was Paclobutrazol concentration consisting of P1 = Paclobutrazol 200 ppm, P2 = Paclobutrazol 250 ppm. The second factor is the type of packaging consisting of, K1 = clear plastic, K2 = opaque plastic. There was no significant difference (ns) in the treatment of the concentration of paclobutrazol solution with cocoa seeds, it could be caused by the influence of ambient temperature, light, and humidity.
