ABSTRACT
Blast is caused by the fungus Pyriculariaoryzae, which can damage all parts of the rice plant. not only in dryland rice plants, blast disease is also found in lowland rice plants. Research on the Inhibitory Power of Methyl Tiophanate to Spore Growth and Intensity The attack of Pyriculariaoryzae on Rice to find out the intensity of blast attacks on lowland rice plants by spraying farmers using synthetic pesticide methyl thiophany with the benefits of controlling and suppressing the growth of Pyriculariaoryzae fungi. This study aims to determine the inhibition of methyl tiofanate as a control for blast disease in an integrated pest management effort. This research was conducted for 5 months starting in October 2017 until February 2018 located in the Sumbersari village area of Jember district, and at the Jember Polytechnic plant protection laboratory. This study uses the t test, to compare 2 treatments. the research was carried out in 2 stages. Phase 1 is the first treatment of control of Pyriculariaoryzae using a fungicide with active ingredients methyl tiofanate, the second treatment using a biological agent Trichoderma sp. Each treatment contained 50 samples in the field. To compare the intensity of the attacks of each treatment using the nonparametric test software spss version 15.0. The second stage was carried out in the Jember Polytechnic plant protection laboratory. The aim is to find out the inhibition of methyl tiofanate on Pyriculariaoryzae spore growth. In the study showed methyl tiofanate suppresses the growth of Pyriculariaoryzae spores with inhibitory power of 58.33%, in the treatment of methyl tiofanate the intensity of attack of fungus Pyriculariaoryzae with Mann-Whiteney test obtained an average of 18.91 ± 17.30. In Trichodermasp treatment Pyriculariaoryzae intensity with Mann-Whiteneytest obtained an average of 22.09 ± 8.13.
