SUMMARY
Making a Promotional Video of Banyuwangi Traditional Dances, Ahmad Zaenullah, Nim F31150751, Year 2018, 28 pages, English Study Program, Politeknik Negeri Jember, Fitri Wijayanti, S.Pd., M.Pd. (Supervisor).
Indonesia is one of countries in the world which consist of thousands large and small islands. Not only the beautiful islands and nature, this country also has many cultural attractions. Traditional dance is one of cultural wealths of Indonesia which is used to attract the tourists as a tourism attraction for the visitors. East Java is a province that has a good potential cultural attraction especially the traditional dances. One of regencies in East Java province which is rich of traditional dances is Banyuwangi. There are some traditional dances in Banyuwangi which has different uniqueness and characteristics. They are mistycal dance of seblang with the two different aged of the dancer and different time, those are seblang olehsari, and seblang bakungan. The other traditional dances in Banyuwangi are Gandrung dance, Jarang goyang dance, and Rodat syiiran dance. Based on those exotic dances, the writer decided to make a promotional media in the form of video to promote the dances as his final project. This project focuses on making promotional video as a promotional media which can give detail information of traditional dances in Banyuwangi.
The writer wanted to promote some traditional dances in Banyuwangi those are Seblang Olehsari, Seblang Bakungan, Gandrung Marsan, Gandrung semi, Jaran Goyang, Jejer Gandrung, and Rodat syiiran dances. The video contains the history, the year of the formed, the meaning, the duration and the annual events for the dances. In doing this final project, the writer has done the data collecting methods they were interview, observation, documentation and audiovisual materials. The data collecting methods used to get valid data of the dances such as the history of the dances, the founder, the meaning, the traditional clothes, the duration of the dances, the amount of the dancer, the characteristic of each dance and the events related with the dances. Besides, the writer used some steps in doing this final project those are strategic planning, pre production, production, post production and distribution.
This final project gave some advantages. First, the writer can improve the writer’s speaking skill with clear pronunciation. The writer could also applied his knowledge of reading and writing that got from English study program in making the report of final project. Next, the writer got new knowledge in making the promotional video although he got some difficulties in making the script and the product but the writer got support and advice from his supervisor. Thus, the writer could finish this final project. Hopefully the result of the video could help the visitors to get the information about traditional dances in Banyuwangi. It could also used by the promotional staff in Banyuwangi Tourism and Culture Department as a promotional media to promote the traditional dances in Banyuwangi. This video decided into three parts, those are opening, body or content and the last is closing.
