ABSTRACT
The Research on the effect of tip pruning and composition of NPK fertilizer on the production and quality of watermelon seeds (Citrullus vulgaris Schard.) is to determine the effect of tip pruning and composition of NPK fertilizer on the production and quality of watermelon seeds (Citrullus vulgaris Schard.). This research was conducted from September 2017 to December 2017 which was located in the rice fields of the Dukuh village, Mencek Sukorambi Jember. The experimental design that was used the Factorial Randomized Block Design consisting of 2 factors and 4 replications. The first factor is pruning (P) which consists of two levels, P0 = no pruning, P1 = tip pruning. The second factor is the composition of NPK fertilizer (K) which consists of three levels, K1 = composition of NPK fertilizer 12:11:20, K2 = composition of NPK fertilizer 15:15:15, and K3 = composition of NPK fertilizer 16:16:16. The results showed that the treatment of tip pruning and NPK fertilizer composition did not have a significant effect (ns) on all parameters, and the interaction between tip pruning and NPK fertilizer composition showed significant differences (*) in the parameters of the number of fulfilled seeds and weight parameters of seeds per plant .
