ABSTRACT
The seed dormancy is a condition in which a good seed can not germinate despite being in a condition or environment suitable for germination. This research method used a factorial completely randomized design (RAL) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor consists of 3 levels and the second factor consists of 3 levels. The first factor is the scarification method, M1: Soaking with hot water temperature 70oC, M2: Soaking with 0,2% sulfuric acid (H2SO4) solution, M3: Soaking with 0,2% potassium nitrate (KNO3) solution. The second factor is the long immersion W1: 5 minutes, W2: 10 Minutes and W3: 15 minutes. The parameters of this research are germination (DB), Growth Rate (KcT), Growth Unity (KsT), Vigor (V) and Dormansi Intensity (ID). The results showed that the immersion duration (W) had a very significant effect on the dormancy spreading of sengon seed (Paraserianthes falcataria) which can be seen on growth rate parameter (5,70%/etmal), synchrony growth (79,78%) and dormancy intensity (22,78%). The scarification method (M) had significant effect on the dormancy spreading of sengon seed (Paraserianthes falcataria) which can be seen on germination parameters (82,00%), while the growth rate parameter (5,94%/etmal), synchrony grow (83,11%) , vigor (83,67%) and dormancy intensity (25,00%) have a very significant effect. The old interaction of immersion and scarification method had significant effect on growth speed parameter (6,07%/etmal), synchrony growth (85,00%) while for dormancy intensity parameter (25,33%), very significant effect.
