In this global era, competition in the world of work is very strict. Moreover, Indonesia has entered an era called with MEA (Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN). Therefore, graduates must be ready and must have a good preparation, before applying for a job in a particular company.This should be really prepared by a graduate degree, because these days a lot of graduates are unemployed, due to their lack of information about how to successfully of face job interview. Based on the condition, Ayeb made a tutorial video entitled “How to Get Success on Job Interview.” This product is made as a learning media for all of students at Politeknik Negeri Jember, especially for students in their junior and senior years who would have their graduation. Unfortunately, this video only used English version. Audience with limited English knowledge might have difficulty to understand the material conveyed by the speaker.So, the objective of this final project is to subtitle a tutorial video “How to Get Success on Job Interview in english version” with Bahasa Indonesiasubtitle.
In finishing this project, the writer did four processes by jones (2017). The processes were spotting, translation, editing, and checking. In the translation process, the writer applied the translation strategies of subtitling by Gotlieb (1992) inGhaemi and Benyamin (2010). The translation strategies were Expansion, Paraphrase, Transfer, Imitation, Deletion.
The product was the subtitling of video entitled “How to Get Success on Job Interview in English version” savedin srt. format.After conducting this Final Project, the writer was able to apply his English skills in writing and translation when the writer subtitled the video.
