ABSTRACT
The seed becomes a high-quality seed if it fulfills physiology quality. One of the factors that effect on the physiology quality is the maturity of fruit. Therefore, the research needs to be conducted to know the effect of the maturity level of fruit on seed quality to three strains of cucumber. This research was conducted from August to November 2017 in Bulurejo, Paseban village, Kencong Sub-district, Jember regency, and Politeknik Seed Technology Laboratory Jember. This research used Factorial Randomized Block Design with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor was three strains of cucumber (T) that consisted of three standards, Cu 101 (T1), Cu 102 (T2) and Cu 103 (T3). The second factor was the maturity level of fruit (U) that consisted of three standards, 28 days after pollination or DAP (U1), 38 DAP (U2) and 48 DAP (U3). From the result, the interaction between the maturity level of fruit and three strains of cucumber gave significant effect to the parameter of germination, growth simultaneity and growth speed. The best effect from the interaction of both factors is on the strain Cu 102 that is harvested 48 days after pollination (T2U3) with the germination percentage 96, 33%, growth simultaneity 33, 33% and growth speed 18, 97%etmal.
