Seed storage in a longer time caused deterioration for cocoa seed. Seed coating is technology that can use to maintain seed quality, one of seed coating material is pectin. This research aimed to maintain cocoa seedling quality from cocoa seed after storage. This research was conduced in Indonesia Coffee and Cocoa Research Institute, on October 2017 to March 2018. The research used factorial complite randomized design with 3 replication. First factor was concentration of pectin consisted 0% (P1), 1% (P2) and 3% (P3). Second factor was life storage consisted 1 week (U1), 2 week (U2) and 3 week (U3). The study showed that interaction between concentration pektin 3% and life storage 1 week (P3U1) could mantain germination rate 96,67%, growth speed 25,61%, growth uniformity 68,00%. The growth of cocoa seedlings from seed coating pectin as same as the growth of cocoa seedlings from cocoa seed without seed coating pectin.
