ABSTRACT
Cucumber is one of the commodities that is already populer in Indonesia. But, the low production of cucumbers becomes problem while the market deman is high.
This research aims to determine the age of pruning and PGPR (Plant Growth- Promoting Bacteria) applications on the production and quality of cucumber seeds.
The study was conducted in Rowo village, Mrawan, Mayang sub district, Jember regency from September-November 2017. This research used Factorial Randomized
Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 2 factors and replications. The first factor is pruning (U) which consists of three levels, U1= pruning in 14 HST, U2= pruning
in 21 HST, U3= pruning in 28 HST. The second factor is PGPR application (K) consisting of 4 levels, K0= PGPR concentrates 0 ml/l, K1= PGPR concentrates 7,5
ml/l, K2= PGPR concentrates 10 ml/l, K3= PGPR concentrates 12,5 ml/l. The data was analyzed by f test (ANOVA) dan tested further by DMRT with error rate 5%.
The result showed that, there was no interaction between the two treatments to all research parameters. Pruning in 21 HST (U2) has significant result to the amount
of leaves, per piece of seeds, per plant of fill out seed and per hectare of the production result. PGPR concentrates 12,5 ml/l (U3) has significantly effect to the
amount of leaves,per piece of seeds, per plant of fill out seed and per hectare of the production result.
