ABSTRACT
Type 2 diabetes is 90% of DM cases that were formerly known as non insulin dependent DM. In this type of diabetes mellitus, insulin is produced but does not work properly, so the treatment can use insulin which is helped by oral hypoglycemic drugs. Meal planning is an important component in the success of DM management. Planning aims to improve diet and control blood sugar. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nutritional counseling on the accuracy of 3J (number, type and schedule of meals) for patients with type 2 diabetes in the outpatient unit of Rambipuji Jember Health Center. The design of this study was pre-experimental with the Pretest Posttest Design design. The population in this study was 201 patients with type 2 DM in the outpatient unit of Rambipuji Jember Health Center and a sample of 17 subjects was taken. The technique of taking subjects in this study by using purposive sampling technique. The independent variable is nutritional counseling for patients with type 2 diabetes , while the dependent variable in this study is the accuracy of eating the number, type and feeding schedule of patients with type 2 diabetes. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect between nutritional counseling (p = 0.34) on the type of eating millitus diabetes patients in outpatient care at Rambipuji Jember health center, there was no effect between nutritional counseling (p = 0.083) on the number of diabetic patients receiving diabetes. Rambipuji Jember Health Center, and there was no effect between nutritional counseling (p = 0.1) on the feeding schedule of patients with diabetes mellitus in outpatient care at Rambipuji Jember Health Center.
