ABSTRACT
Indonesian sweet potato production is still low. The average tuber yield of sweet potatoes at the farm level is 7.3 tons per hectare, while the average production at the national level is 9.5 tons per hectare. One of the factors causing the low yield of sweet potatoes is the Spodoptera litura pest. In this study, control of armyworm on sweet potato plants with Biopesticide of entomopathogenic Nematode (Steinernema spp.). The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Entomopathogenic Nematodes (Steinernema spp.) On the intensity of grayworm pest attacks and sweet potato yields. This research was carried out in December 2017 to March 2018 in Sidorejo Village, Umbulsari District, Jember Regency. The study design was a randomized block design consisting of 4 treatments, namely K1 = (entomopathogenic nematode 106 IJ / l), K2 = (entomopathogenic nematode 206 IJ / l), K3 = (entomopathogenic nematode 306 IJ / l) compared to synthetic fungicide K4 = ( Profenofos 500 g / l) with 5 replications. Test data using ANOVA (Analyze of Variance) and further test with BNT 5%. The results of the study were the application of K1 = (entomopathogenic nematodes 106 IJ / l), K2 = (entomopathogenic nematodes 206 IJ / l), K3 = (entomopathogenic nematodes 306 IJ / l) and as a comparison using synthetic insecticides K4 = (Profenofos 500 g / l) influential not significant to the intensity of attacks of Spodoptera litura and yields on sweet potatoes. Attack intensity is negatively correlated with sweet potato yield with the regression equation y = -56.99x + 1133.3 R2 = 0.6791
