ABSTRACT
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease where the body cannot produce or cannot use insulin effectively.Nutrition services in hospital is one of the service efforts in the form of feeding that suitwith illness experienced by the patient.Patient satisfaction in food service in hospital is a top priority, because food is an important factor in healing patients who are treated.Hospital with high patient satisfaction indicate the better service provided to patients, vice versa.The purpose of this study was to determine the relation about the quality of food service and the level of satisfaction of patients with diabetes mellitus.The research was conducted at RSU Kaliwates Jember.This type of research is analytic observational with cross sectional design.The subjects of this study were Diabetes Mellitus patients.The number of research subjects was 47 people using quota sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire of food service.Bivariate test analysis using SPSS 16.0 with Chi Square test.The results of univariate test analysis revealed that the most diabetes mellitus patients with age 50-59 years were 23 people (49%),female patients are 27 people (57.4%),the most jobs as housewives are 18 people (38.3%) and the highest education is SMA as many as 17 people (36.2%). The results showed an analysis of the relation between the quality of food service and the level of food satisfaction is p = 0.00. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relation between the quality of food service and the level of food satisfaction with the results of significance (p = 0.00).
