ABSTRACT
The aim of this research is to determine the effect of SP-36 Fertilizer and branch trimming on the watermelon seeds production. This research was conducted on June until August 2017 at Sukokerto Land, Sukowono, Jember. This research used factorial Randomized Block Design with 3 repetitions. The main factor was the addition of SP-36 fertilizer (S), S1=65 grams/plant, S2=64 grams/plant, S3=72 grams/plant. The second factor was the branch trimming (C), C1= on the 2nd and 3rd branch, C2= on the 2nd and 4th branch, C3= on the 2nd and 6th branch which was repeated 3 times for each trimming. The data obtained from the research result was then processed by the variety analysis or ANOVA where if there was a significant difference on one of the treatments, there would be an additional test used BNT 5% and DMRT 5%. The result showed a significance difference on the effect of SP-36 addition, from the result, the BNT 5% was applied on the SP-36 Fertilizer treatment, it could be determined that adding SP-36 fertilizer had a significant effect on seed germination parameters. The observation result of seed growth speed and simultaneous seed growth showed that they had a significant difference, that the optimum Sp-36 fertilizer addition on the S3 treatment, that was adding 72 grams of SP-36 per plant had no significant effect on the plant length, fruit weight, fruit diameter, the branch trimming had a signfiicant negative effect on all observation parameters. While the interaction between SP-36 addition and the branch trimming had a signfiicant negative effect on all observation parameters.
