ABSTRACT
To reduce the number of seed import activity, the producer used seed storage for long term period for the next planting season. The seed storage will shrink. To know seed condition after storage, vigor test should be conducted. Electrical test is a method to test vigor seed through the measurement of electrical conductivity to soaking water of the seed because water will indicate the level of electrolyte leakage. This study was conducted on August 2017 in seed production technique laboratory, Politeknik Negeri Jember. The used testing design was factorial complete randomize design consisted of two factors. The first factor was soak period, consisted of: 6 hours, 12 hours, 18 hours, and 24 hours. The second factor was the storage period, consisted of: 4 months, 5 months, and 11 months. The result of study from the first factor showed that the lowest electrical conductivity score was 6 hours and the highest electrical conductivity score was 24 hours. Then, the second factor showed that the lowest electrical conductivity score was 4 months and the highest electrical conductivity score was 11 months. The best interaction to read the vigor status was by combining between 24 hours of soak period and 11 months of storage period. The electrical conductivity score had negative correlation with germination, growth, and simultaneously growth with correlation efficiency 0,947, 0,953 and 0,957.
