ABSTRACT
The plantation growth is influenced by several factors, consist of: sun light,air, and soil. The objectives of this study were to know the impact of basic fertiphos fertilizer addition and pruning effect to the production and the quality of melon seed. This study was established in the field of PT. Benih Citra Asia, Wirowongso village, Ajung, Jember. This study was started from June until October 2017. This study used factorial group randomized design consisting of two factors. The first factor was the addition of basic fertiphos fertilizer; P1 40g, P2 60g, P3 80, P4 100g per plant. The second factor was pruning T1 control without pruning, T2 pruning the branch by maintaining the main stem, and T3 pruning the main stem which is kept its branches and repeated three times. The result of the study showed that treatment of basic fertiphosfertilizer with dose of 40 g and control gave significantly different result to plant height which was 28 hst. While the variables observation of the pithy seeds number, weight 1000 grains, to sprout percentage, growing speed and the simultaneous growth gave no significant difference.
