The nature of the matrix is usually “resilient” (ductile). Based on the above background description, the authors will conduct research on making fibers with empty bunch and fibers shells from oil palm. In this study the characteristics of fiber to be known is the physical properties and mechanical properties of fiber bunches and empty bunches of shells. With variations of layout of empty bunches straight and shells randomly using tensile test and impact test apparatus. Sifat matriks biasanya “ulet” (ductile). Berdasarkan uraian latar belakang di atas, penulis akan melakukan penelitian pembuatan fiber dengan serat tandan kosong dan cangkang dari kelapa sawit. Dalam penelitian ini karakteristik fiber yang ingin diketahui adalah sifat fisis dan sifat mekanik dari fiber berpenguat serat tandan kosong dan cangkang. Dengan fariasi tata letak tandan kosong lurus dan cangkang secara acak menggunakan alat uji tarik dan alat uji impack
