Relation of Mother Education, Family Support, Cadre Support with Toddler Nutritional Status and Activity of Mothers to Consider Toddler at Posyandu (Study in Kencong Village, Kencong District, Jember Regency )

ABSTRACT

Mother education has an important role for the growth and development of toddlers, especially toddlers age 2-5 years. Family support and cadre support can make mother always pay attention to their toddler health. Under-five mothers who don’t routinely come to posyandu will have a 2 times greater risk of having a toddler with less nutritional status, because mothers under five do not know the latest information at the posyandu. This study was conducted to determine the relationship of maternal education, family support, cadre support with the nutritional status of children and the activeness of mother to consider toddlers in posyandu (study in Kencong Village, Kencong District). The method was an analytical survey with cross sectional research design. The instrument used family support questionnaires, cadre support and poisoned scales with accuracy of 0,1 kg. Subjects in this study were mother and toddlers aged 2-5 years with subjects taking techniques using cluster random sampling. The results showed that there were 61,3% of middle school education, 37,2% of adequate family support, 41% of good cadre support and 74,4% of the nutritional status of children under five in the good nutrition category.This research concluded that is maternal education and family support have relationshipto nutritional status and activity mam’s considers toddlers at posyandu, but cadre support haven’t relationship to nutritional status and activity mam’s.
