Banyuwangi Culture and Tourism Department has some main divisions; there are Secretariat Division (Kesekertariatan), Culture division (Bidang Kebudayaan), Tourism division (Bidang Pariwisata) and Marketing division (Bidang Pemasaran). I did my internship program in one of that divisions, it was Tourism Division. Here, I can learn how to manage and develop the tourism object and culture in Banyuwangi. The activity in this department starts on Monday up to Friday from 07.00 am until 03.30 pm. Tourism division usually handles the management of tourism in Banyuwangi and organizing Banyuwangi festival.
Beside Joining Banyuwangi festival (Race Photo Competition and Karya Tari Festival), I also conducted some activities such as handling tax of tourism, handling letter and preparing banyuwangi weekend actualization. The objectives of my internship program are to apply my skills and knowledge that I got from the English Study Program. Second is to increase my knowledge and get new experience in managing the tourism in Banyuwangi. The last is to prepare myself to be professional in the real work place.
During I conducted my internship program, I got some problems such as I did not know how to write the date and the nominal of tax in SKPD, so that I ask the staff to give me the example of it.
Based on the explanation above, I concluded that Banyuwangi Culture and Tourism Department is an appropriate place to conduct the internship program, because I got a lot of experiences and knowledge.So, I can apply the skill that I have ever got from my collage.
 
I suggest to students of English Study Program who want to conduct internship program in Banyuwangi Culture and Tourism Department should prepare all of the skill such as Communication Skill, Computer Skill especially Microsoft Office and also has good attitude.
