SUMMARY

Tourism is a journey that is done for a while or traveling activity to another place for many purposes. Done individually or in groups to enjoy the nature by go to some places that offer a beautiful scenery. Tourist can enjoy the tourism object from some countries because tourism object in every country is different, included in Indonesia. Indonesia is the largest archipelago that consist of many provinces which is each province has beautiful tourism objects that amazing to visit like East Java. East Java is one of the big provinces in Indonesia that has potential tourism objects like Jember. Jember is one of cities in East Java that has many beautiful tourism objects especially beaches. There are so many beaches in Jember such as Payangan, Nanggelan, Bandealit, Watu Ulo, Puger, and Papuma. Papuma is the most beautiful beach in Jember that called as Heaven Behind the Hill.
The writer decided to make the promotional video for Papuma beach Jember as her final project. This project focuses on making a promotional video as a promotional media which can give complete information about Papuma beach to the tourists, either domestic tourists and foreign tourists. This video divided into three parts such as opening, content, and closing. In the first part of the video was opening. The writer showed the location and short explanation about Papuma. In the second part was content. The content of this promotional video presented about the tourism object spots in Papuma beach such as Pasir Putih Malikan beach, and The Peak of Siti Hinggil Hill including kinds of facilities (toilet, gazebos, musholla, food stalls, parking area, souvenir shop, tour guide, and cottages), as well as tourism activities which can be done by tourist who visited Papuma (camping, swimming, playing a sand and water, taking pictures, picnic, boating, and playing football). In the last part was closing, the writer persuadedviii the tourists using persuasive writing skill to visit Papuma. This video presented in English completed with subtitile in Bahasa Indonesia. In making the final project, There were four methods that the writer’s used. Those were interview, observation, documentation, and audio visual material. In interview, the writer has already done twice interview those were the writer interviewed the promotional staff of Jember Tourism and Culture Department and interviewed the manager of Papuma beach. in observation, the writer observed tourism object spots, facilities, and activities at Papuma beach. in documentation, the writer got some books and CD, those were Jember Naturally booklet, Hallo Magazine, and CD of Naturally Jember from Jember Tourism and Culture Department. Then, in audio visual material the writer asked her cameraman to shoot all of the objects and process it into video to make the promotional video. In addition, in making the promotional video, the writer used four steps from Fauzisyah in Munadi (2013), those were setting the theme or scene, developing the theme (making storyboard and script), shooting, and editing. Then, the writer added some steps, those were evaluation and finishing the product to make the promotional video more complete. This final project gave some advantages. First, the writer can improve the writer’s speaking skill with more accurate pronunciation and intonation. Besides, the writer applied her knowledge of translation, writing, tour and travel, and biro perjalanan wisata that got from English study program. The second, the writer knew the steps of making a promotional video. Futhermore, the writer also had problem in finishing her final project especially in shooting, and editing the video. Fortunately, the writer consulted it with her supervisors. The supervisors gave suggestion that the writer should used the cameraman and the editor to edit the writer’s product in order to get a better result. Finally, the writer followed the supervisor’s suggestion. The result of the video was promotional video of Papuma Beach which explained about tourism object spots, facilities, and activities that can be done. Hopefully this promotional video will be useful for all people especially for Papuma beach and Jember Tourism and Culture Department in
order to promote Papuma beach as a potential tourism object in Jember.
