ABSTRACT
Demand for cucumber commodities is large and also cucumber demand will also increase, but production of cucumber decreased in each year of the 2010-2014. An effort that can support increased production and productivity is using hybrid seeds, determining the ratio of male and female flowers and also the cucumber varieties. This research was conducted in August - November 2017 in Dusun Tempuran, Cakru Village, Kencong, Jember with a height of 30 m above sea level. This research was used Randomized Block Design (RAK) factorial with two factors: The first factor is the ratio of male flowers to female flower (R), which consists of 5 levels, namely : 1: 1, 1: 2, 1: 3, 1: 4, 1: 5. The second factor is cucumber varieties (V), which consists of: KE015, KE019. The results of this research showed that the ratio of male and female flowers significantly (*) on the percentage parameter of pithy seeds, the percentage of empty seeds. Flowers ratio of 1: 1 (R1) produced the highest percentage of pithy seed that is 44.32% and the lowest percentage of empty seeds is to 55.68%. While for the treatment of varieties have a very significant effect (**) on the parameters of the finished fruit, the average number seeds of fruit, the percentage of pithy seeds, the percentage of empty seed, germination seed (DB), and growth rate (Kct). Varieties of KE015 (V1) is showed the best results. There is a sighnificant interaction (*) between the ratio of flower and variety to seed production / ha. The combination of flower ratio by 1: 1 and application variety of KE015 (R1V2) resulted in the production of seeds / ha and giving best number of 60.14 kg / ha.
