<note>ABSTRACT 
 
 
The purpose of this research is to know the production and quality of cucumber seed (Cucumis sativus L.) on planting media composition and the best nitrogen fertilizer treatment in influencing the production and quality of cucumber seeds. The research had conducted for 3 months, from June 2017 to August 2017 in Jatigono village, Kunir, Lumajang. The research was conducted by Factorial Group Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 factors and 3 repetitions. The first factor is the composition of plant media that consist of 4 Top soil (M0), 2 Top soil: 2 cow manure (M1), 2 Top soil: 1 cow Manure: 1 Coco peat (M2). The second factor is the dose of nitrogen fertilizer that consist of 225, 168,7 and 112,5 Kg / Ha, followed by the Duncan Multiple Range and Least Significant Different Test with error level 1%. The results showed that the composition of planting media significantly affected (*) on the seed weight per plant and the Sequence of Seed Growth and very significant (**) on the weight of 1000 grains, and the best application is M2 (2 Top soils: 1 Cow Manure: 1 Cocopeat). The treatment of nitrogen fertilizer dosage had highly significant effect(**) to the weight of 1000 seeds. There was highly significant interaction (**) between planting media composition and the treatment of nitrogen fertilizer dosage to seed weight each plant.
