ABSTRACT
One of the methods to increase the production of onion are using cutting tuber’s onion and paclobutrazol. The aim of this study was to determine the use effects of some cutting tuber’s onion and concentration of paclobutrazol on growth and yield of onion. This study was conducted in August to October 2016, at the farm field of Seed Production Technic Department of Agricultural Production State Polytechnic of Jember. Design of this research is Randomized Block Design (RBD) which has factorial whith two factor. The first factor is cutting tuber’s onion, consist of: without cutting (M0), ¼ cutting (M1), 1/3 cutting (M2). Second factor is concentration of paclobutrazol, consist of: 0 ppm (P0), 30 ppm (P1), 45 ppm (P2), 60 ppm (P3). The results showed that the cutting tuber’s onion (M) was very significant in all observed parameters (plant height, number of leaves, number of tuber per hill, diameter of tuber, tuber fresh weight of leaves, dried weight of tuber). Consentration of paclobutrazol (P) was very significant in parameters (number of leaves, number of tuber per hill, diameter of tuber, tuber fresh weight of leaves, dried weight of tuber). The use of variation cutting tuber and concentration of paclobutrazol gave significant effects on diameter of tuber with value 2,21 cm on M0P3 (without cutting, paclobutrazol 60 ppm).
