ABSTRACT
One effort to increasing seed production and quality of tomatoes with additing
adhesive material and sheating rhizobium sp bacteria at seed tomatoes before
planting. This research was held for 5 months (Juny-October) at Banjarsengon
sub village, Gebang village, Patrang Jember with a height above 90 m asl. And
conducted Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 factors and 3 replications. The
first factor was a adheshive material consisted of without adhesive material,
tapioca 5%, molasses 90%. Second factor was sheating material combination
Arabic gum:gypsum consisted of (0:0), (0:100), (25:75), (50:50), (75:25),
(100:0). The result showed that the adhesive material treatment has very
significant effect on seed total each plant and significant for seed weight each
plant, and potential each hectare. Adhesive material molasses 90% showed the
best result on that parameter. Sheating treatment has significant effect on plant
height at vegetatif, weight dry crown and root, fruit total each plant, germination
capacity, germination quality, and seed germination speed, very significant effect
on seed total each plant. Sheating treatment combination Arabic gum:gypsum
50:50 (G3) showed the best result on that parameter. There was interaction
between adhesive material and sheating to the fruit total each plant, seed weight
each plant, and potential each hectare. Adhesive material molasses 90% and
sheating combination Arabic gum:gypsum 25:75 (P2G2) showed the best
potential each hectare is 114,6 kg.
