ABSTRACT
Cucumber is one type of vegetable which contain high enough minerals and
vitamins, so the need for cucumbers increases. The increasing need of cucumber
is not balanced with cucumber production. One of the ways to increase cucumber
production is by pruning and giving paclobutrazol. This research was conducted
in July-Oktober 2017. Research location in farm of Cangkring Village, Patrang
Sub-district, besides that the research also conducted in laboratory of seeds
production technique of polytechnic of Jember, East Java. This research was
conducted using a factorial randomized block design with 2 factors. The first
factor is the shoots pruning that consist of three levels: K1 = the shoots pruning
on the sixth segment, K2 = the shoots pruning on the fifteenth segment, K3 = the
shoots pruning on the twentieth section. The second factor is giving paclobutrazol
with different amount at three levels: P1 = paclobutrazol 0,250 ml/l water, P2 =
paclobutazol 0,375 ml/l water, P3 = paclobutrazol 0,500 ml/ l water. Shoots
prunning has no effect of the cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) seeds production and
quality. There is no interaction between shoots pruning and paclobutrazol
applicating of the cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) seeds production.
