Developing the Website of English Students Community in the English
Department of Politeknik Negeri Jember is the writer’s Final Project. The project was
conducted based on the need of the wider platform to deliver complete information
about the organization. Therefore, the writer makes a website. There are five main
features on the website. They are Home, Profile, Departments, News, and Download.
In collecting data to write the articles of the website, the writer used three
data-collecting methods based on Sugiyono. They are interview, observation, and
documentation. Several parties that were interviewed by the writer are the advisor of
the organization, the former president, the current president, and coordinators of each
department in the organization. From the data-collecting activities, the writer got
several information such as the profile, vision and missions, list of departments and
their job decriptions, and their excellent programs.
In making this website the writer adapts the procedure from Madcoms (2009).
They are; determining theme and purpose, determining domain and hosting, creating
layout, coding, testing the system, uploading files to hosting, and website online. For
the theme, the writer used the responsive theme since the display will be
automatically adjusted with the screen resolution. The writer rented www.hmjbkp.
com for one year as the domain of the website and chose blogger as the base of
the website. In making the layout, the writer used Adobe Photoshop. After that, the
writer edited the html code that the layout could be applied on the website display.
The next step is testing the system that was aimed to make sure that every element of

the website runs well. Then, after the system has been tested and there is no errors
occured, the writer started uploading the photos and articles of the website. At the end
if the process, the website is ready to be accessed.
The website contains information such as general profile, explanation of every
department in ESCOM, and articles about their latest event or agendas. The website
also provided the “Download” tab that becomes the place to download files related to
an activity held by ESCOM. The writer believes that this website later will be very
useful as a platform to deliver information to the public.
