SUMMARY
Handling Accommodations for Guests at Kampung Wisata Belajar Tanoker Ledokombo, Nasrifah Fida Lestari, F31140289, 2017. Language, Communication and Tourism Department, Politeknik Negeri Jember, Adriadi Novawan S. Pd, M. Pd (Supervisor).

Politeknik Negeri Jember is a vocational collage that directs the process of teaching and learning at the level of expertise, skill, and specific competency standard in accordance with the needs of industry sectors. As the vocational collage, the teaching and learning activity at Politeknik Negeri Jember is more emphasis on practice rather than theory. Therefore, Politeknik Negeri Jember conducts an internship program that should be followed by final level students.
I decided to participate in an internship program at Kampung Wisata Belajar Tanoker, because currently Kampung Wisata Belajar Tanoker has become one of tourist destination at Jember. So I can learn how to communicate with the tourists who visit Tanoker and how to be a professional worker with great hospitality. Besides, I also can apply the knowledge that I got from the classroom.
Kampung Wisata Belajar Tanoker itself is a learning community in the region Ledokombo which was established on 10th of December 2009 It was built to help children who left by their parents who work as the migrant laborers and preserve the culture. Tanoker has some of traditional games such as egrang, percussion, gobak sodor, kasti, bentengan and polo lumpur that can enjoy by the tourist who visits Tanoker. Tanoker also has created an annual event that called Festival Egrang and monthly event that called Pasar Lumpur. There were fourdivision at Kampung Wisata Belajar Tanoker, those are Secretariat Division, Finance Division, Community Development Division and Business Development Division. Community Development Division is divided into two sub divisions; those are, Children Assistance Team and Sub Division of Organizing and Advocacy Team. Meanwhile, Business Development Division is also divided into two sub divisions; they are Tourism Village Team or Event Organizer and Tanocraft Team.
During my internship program at Kampung Wisata Belajar Tanoker, I participated in Event Organizer division. There were many kind of activities that has been done such as Receiving Guests, Accompanying Children in Learning Process, Making Company Profile Video of Tanoker, Being a committee in National Workshop. I focus on handling the guest especially on accommodations for the guests. Then, some activities that I did in handling the guest were handling food and beverage, handling the homestay, and handling transportation.
Meanwhile, there were many problems I faced during the internship, like I was difficult to mingle up with the staff, community, also the children, I did not know what things should be prepared for the guests, and so on. But the staff of Tanoker especially Event Organizer team slowly explained me then I could handle it.
In conlusion, Kampung Wisata Belajar Tanoker is an appropriate place to conduct the internship program. I got a lot of experiences and knowledge from this internship program. Hopefully, those experiences and knowledge will be useful for me in the future.
