Internship Program is one of important thing that needed by Polytechnic students to complete the requirement to finish the collage. This activity aims for students who graduate from this college have the ability to face the challenges that exist in the world of industry. I choose Royal Hotel N’ Lounge as the institution to conduct my Internship Program, it is because Royal Hotel N’ Lounge is a company which committed to provide hospitality and service, so the writer could apply the knowledge that the writer got in Englsih study program such as English for Hotel and Restaurant and practice and also speakiang skills.
Royal Hotel N’ Lounge located in karimata street no.50 kav. 2 Jember. Royal Hotel is one three stars hotel with 69 rooms, good facilities and good service. Royal hotel has seven departmens they are Accounting Department, Front Office Department, F&B Service Department, F&B Product Department, House Keeping Department, Security and Enginering. I got an opportunity to handle jobs in Food and Beverage service Department during my internship program. The activities that were done during internship program were service guest at breakfast time, taking order, delivering food and baverage in resto, delivering fod and baverage in room service, setting up buffet, delivering welcome drink, handling guest payment as a cashier, and handling event as banquet team. The internship program was running from March to May 2015. The working hour was 8 hours everyday. For morning shift starting at 6 am up to 2 pm and for afternoon shift starting from 2 pm up to 10 pm. Every week I got one day off. From that position, I learned and got experiences about many activities that should be done by waitress.
Based on the explanation above, I conclude that conducting internship program in Royal Hotel N’ Lounge gave me a lot of adventages. Besaide gave me knowledge about hotel industry, it also can improve my skill and gave me experiences and prepared me to face the real work place after graduation.
