Travindo Nusantara Travel and Tour is located at Jalan Slamet Riyadi No 281 Baratan, Patrang – Jember, East Java. It has good reputation to customers as a travel agent in Jember. I chose this company as my internship program because Travindo Nusantara Travel and Tour is a tour and travel agent that provides domestic and international tour packages. By having internship program at Travindo Nusantara Travel and Tour, I could know real picture of tourism industry, especially travel agency.
During my Internship Program in Travindo Nusantara Travel and Tour, I did some activities in marketing, tour planing, and tour leading. When I was in marketing, I offered tour packages to customer. In this activity, I went to some places such as elementary school, junior high school, medical vocational school for offering tour packages. The activity of tour planing was making a tour package to find tourism objects, price of ticket, restaurant, and hotel.
While in tour leading, I learnt to be a tour leader to handle passenggers like greeting and introducing to passengers, taking care of the passengers, and asking feedback to passengers. First, greeting and introducing. They were activities to explain about CV. Tanpa Nama travel and tourism objects to the passengers. Second was taking care of passengers. It was an activity to give attention and serve passengers like helping passengers and accompany them do shopping. Last, asking feedback to passengers was my activity to ask feedback to the passengers related the service provided.
During conducting tour leading, I also got many problems. I could not deliver information to tell about tourism to passengers. The other problem was that I could not manage time well when accompanying the passengers shop and I could not make closing conversation well after asking feedback to passengers. In conclusion Travindo Nusantara Travel and Tour is one of appropriate places to conduct the Internship Program because I got new experiences and understood real picture of tour and travel industry, especially in tour leading. In this place, I also learnt many knowledges about tour planing and marketing. Thus, it gave me a lot of experiences to prepare me working in tourism activity as my basic skill.
