SUMMARY

The Activities of Tourism, Youth, and Sport District Agency of Bondowoso in Exploring the Tourism Attraction, Fahrun Nisa’, NIM F31140282, 2017, Language, Communication, and Tourism Department, Politeknik Negeri Jember, Siti Aisyiyah, S.Pd., M.Pd. (Supervisor) and Dra. Indriati Harkarita (Field Supervisor)

Bondowoso is famous with the variety of tourism attraction. They are cultural tourism, culinary tourism, historical tourism, and the popular one is the natural tourism in Bondowoso. The local government had already made an improvement for the development of their regency which improved by the number of visitors arriving in Bondowoso. The visitors were not only from the local tourist, but also from the foreign tourist. It is caused by their interest to visit and explore the wonderful tourism in Bondowoso. The development of this regency was not far from the contribution of Tourism, Youth, and Sport District Agency of Bondowoso, because they developed those tourism attractions gradually. Therefore, I decided to choose Tourism, Youth, and Sport District Agency of Bondowoso as the place to explore my knowledge and get valuable experiences through the internship program.
In this internship program, I was placed in Tourism Department and Youth and Sport Department. First, the duty of Tourism Department is handling the activity related with tourism in Bondowoso. There were various agenda or events held by Tourism Department. They were Recapitulating the Number of Visitors of Hotel and Tourism Objects, Describing the Tourism Objects in Bondowoso, Handling the Preparation for an Event of Festival Makanan Khas, Participating on an Agenda of “Sosialisasi dan Pemantauan Kunjungan Wisata serta Peningkatan Okupansi Hotel” in Bondowoso, Participating on a Big Event of “Pemilihan Raka-Raki Jawa Timur” in Surabaya, and Preparing for an Agenda of “Pelatihan Seni Tradisi” in Bondowoso. Besides, I also participated on the event or agenda of Youth and Sport Department, such as Preparing for an Event of Ijen Trail Running and Participating on an Agenda of “Pemilihan Pemuda Pelopor Bondowoso”. For that reason, I was interested to conduct my internship program there. I could apply my knowledge that I learnt in my college. They were Public Relation, Speaking, English for Tour and Travel, Public Speaking, Correspondence, and Computer.
Additionally, in conducting this internship program, I got lots of valuable experiences and learnt new knowledge I never got in the college. Here, I learnt how to apply my knowledge in the real work place. I tried to suit what I had learnt with the tasks I got in the work place. It was not easy things to do, but I was lucky to repeatedly direct by the staffs in finishing my job. They taught me patiently.
