The internship program offeres the student to gain the experiences and develop their skills and abilities in the real working condition. This program conducted in the several companies, industries, and other institutions which are relevant with the materials learned by the student during their study in Politeknik Negeri Jember and their competencies. English Study Program as one of the study program in Language, Communication and Tourism Department of Politeknik Negeri Jember also requires to conduct their internship program in various places such as hotels, english course, travel agents, non-government organisations, translation company, and etc.
Being a translator is one of graduation profile for English Study Program and realizing that the writer has good ability in doing translation, the writer chooses Institute of Research and Empowerment (IRE) Yogyakarta as her best choice to conduct the Internship Program. It is one of the Non-Government Organizations (NGO) in Yogyakarta. The writer chooses this institution because she wanted to apply and improve her knowledge and ability in doing translation, writing the report and translation result, as weel as other business activities such as do the correspondance activity, speak in front of th public, build a good relations with the other staff of IRE, and other activity.
After conducting the internship program at IRE Yogyakarta, the writer got several new knowledges and experiences in the real workplaces that very benefitial for her future. The writer did several activities at IRE Yogyakarta such as translating research text, assisting consortium event, mothly discussion, weekly discussion with IRE’s staff, and assisting the project officer managed an event.
