The Relation Between Nutrition Knowledge, Utilization to Mass Media, and Nutritional Status with Body Image to Female Students in Politeknik Negeri Jember Luky Shofiana Al Lukmani Clinical Nutrition Study Program Department of Health ABSTRACT Adolescence is the stage of a person who is between to the naka-child and adult phases that are characterized by physical, behavioral, biological, and emotional changes. Body image is a person’s assessment of the appearance of his own body in conscious or unconcious. In applying a cooled body image, they usually have the ideal features gained through mass media. From the mass media knowledge of nutrition can also be obtained to achieve and maintain the ideal nutritional status, thereby affecting the body shape that teenagers want. The purpose of this education is to determine the relation between nutrition knowledge, utilization to mass media, and nutritional status with body image to female students in Politeknik Negeri Jember. This research was conducted in January-February 2018. The reseach design used is cross sectional. Sample size in this research is 81 subjects with technique of sampling proporsionate stratified random sampling. The analysis of this research is using Lambda correlation test. The results of this study subjects who have a positive body image are 43 subjects. Good knowledge of nutrition 49 subjects, high media exposure are 51 subjects, and normal nutritional status are 56 subjects. The conclusion is that there is a relation between utilization mass media with body image (p = 0,031 and r = 0,395), there is a correlation between nutritional status with body image (p = 0,004 and r = 0,237), and there is no a correlation between nutition knowledge with body image (p = 0,253) at body image students in Politeknik Negeri Jember.
